Anna Jones

Academic Profile

I studied plant sciences and ecology during my undergraduate degree, culminating in a final year research project reconstructing hydraulic flow in extinct early land plants preserved in the fossil record. This project built upon paleobotany research I carried out in Oxford in Summer 2019 with Liam Dolan and Sandy Hetherington working on computational 3D reconstructions of fossil plants.

Current Research

I will be researching the impacts of ozone pollution on plant health, a collaborative project supervised by Elizabeth Jeffers (Oxford, Long Term Ecology Group Lead), Brian Kerridge (RAL Space), Hugh Mortimer (RAL Space) and Garry Hayman (Centre for Ecology and Hydrology). The key research question addressed by this project is how varying ozone fluxes influence plant health across space and time.
