Coralia Cartis

Research Interests

My research broadly addresses the development of algorithms for optimization problems of many kinds such as those involving black-box, noisy, expensive evaluations. I am particularly interested in parameter estimation for climate modelling,  data assimilation for weather forecasting, and more generally, in developing efficient optimization algorithms for (linear and nonlinear) inverse problems.

PhD in Mathematics, University of Cambridge, 2005

Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh (6 years), Associate Professor at University of Oxford since 2013
