Ellen Baker

Academic Profile

My background is in plant sciences, doing my MSc in Plant and Fungal Taxonomy, Diversity and Conservation at RBG Kew (Schroder foundation scholarship) with a research project on the interaction between polyploidy and apomixis in Alpine Asteraceae. Since then I have worked as a research assistant in systematic mapping of sustainability standard literature at the Oxford Long-Term Ecology Laboratory, ISEAL Alliance and Rainforest Alliance and as plant sciences content editor at the Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International.

Current Research

My main research interest is pollination ecology. My DPhil project will focus on studying the factors which constrain bee pollen choice and quantifying the nutritional composition of different wildflower pollens in order to better understand bee distribution and foraging.
