Life history evolution
We can offer a range of projects at the interface of population and evolutionary ecology. These could be focused on life history evolution with a particular focus on the evolution of parental care, the evolutionary origins of virus or non-Mendelian patterns of inheritance on applied ecological issues.
Specific DPhil projects could be in:
Evolution of parental care in seasonal environments
Within-vector virus dynamics
Interaction between gene drives and behavioural ecology
Qualifications & experiences
The PhD projects could develop quantitative skills in mathematical biology. With collaborators, there is opportunities to develop empirical aspects to these projects
